Considering the history I think Sutter's Mill is appropriate. Great PR blah blah blah. Maybe the name of the area should be changed to Carbonaceous whatever in honor of the meteorite? I don't care what it's called but I do hope some new intriguing science comes from it, although I doubt that will be the case.
