NASA asteroid expert Don Yeomans, head of the agency's Near-Earth Object Program Office, told SPACE.com that the object which exploded over a thinly inhabited stretch of eastern Europe today was most likely an _exploding fireball known as a bolide._

Greetings all,

Looks like bolide is STILL a relevant term according to the NASA expert! Also until a chemical analysis of the fallen material along with a spectra of the asteroid that is near, we won't know for certain if there is a connection. Lets wait until evidence is in.
