I caught my first Perseid on July 26, 2013 at 23:55 hrs European Daylight Saving Time. It was a bluish-white color and streaked through the sky between Cygnus and Lyra. Duration ca. 1 second and pretty fast. No wonder since they cross Earth's orbit at a speed of about 60 km/s!
