Thanks folks for all the advice, suggestions, and opinions, I get the overall 
idea and I'll not give so much weight to my simple little test. By the way, the 
reference to nitric was a joke, seriously it was just a joke, I'd never use 
nitric, sulphuric however is a different story.


To address some of your questions and to clarify things a little: Yes I'm sure 
it's a meteorite, it doesn't have much crust remaining but there's enough to 
determine it's a meteorite. Concerning my scratch test, the scratches produced 
are very light, but I'm not going by how heavy or light the scratches might be, 
I'm feeling for how the stone bites into the glass, which it does with not any 
more pressure than say when you rub your eyes. Concerning images of a window, 
it's whole and has no window, if and when I get around to producing one I'll be 
sure to add some to my website and give a heads up.
