I ran across a copy of Harold Povenmire's book "Fireballs, Meteors, and Meteorites" and one chapter talks about the Florida Fireball Patrol - a network of observers who logged fireballs for the purpose of recovering meteorites. I did some searching on the web, but could not find any recent info about this group. Does it still exist? And this may be a silly question, but is Mr. Povenmire still alive and living in Florida?
