Greetings to All, While I have enjoyed reading the posts and have yet to post anything myself, I feel compelled to make my first comment.
NWA 5000 is indeed an exquisite lunar meteorite. However, there are bigger lunars. Kalahari 009 and NWA 10495, both exceed NWA 5000’s original mass. I’m writing now because I have been honored to curate the main mass of NWA 10495, which weighs 12.120 kg. Accuracy is important and it is impaired by exaggeration. While bigger doesn’t always mean better, when extolling the virtues of the largest lunar meteorite...size matters! Records get broken and we have new achievements to celebrate, but it is not right to celebrate NWA 5000 as being the largest lunar meteorite found…(and respectfully, nor can there be at least three one-of-a-kind works of art).
