Subject: Security Message for U.S. Citizens: Airstrikes in Libya

International media outlets are reporting that the United States launched
airstrikes on ISIL targets in Libya on August 1, 2016. According to press
reports, the airstrikes mark the beginning of an ongoing air campaign in Libya.
In light of these recent developments as well as past expressed desire by ISIL
to target Moroccan government and Western interests in Morocco, the U.S.
mission in Morocco reminds U.S. citizens to maintain a heightened sense of
vigilance and awareness and exercise prudent personal safety practices such as
varying routes to school and work, communicating travel plans with family and
friends, and being alert to your immediate surroundings.
