To the meteorite community at large: The classification for the Nigerian impact melt is nearing completion and at this point, there is not enough information to give it a proper name associated with its location. Without some FAST intervention, this meteorite will receive an NWA number. Nothing wrong per se with an NWA number, but in the words of the classifying scientist, "This is a great shame for something so special." The only find info available is that it was found just outside Arlit, Niger. Many people searched and found this material, so better coordinates MUST be available. I realize this is the nature of the business, BUT surely we can get information on a find with a large total known weight (TKW).
