Fred Olson was one of the greats among us in terms of his contribution To all members of the community with his all-encompassing smile and Open heart.
While I have not been able to make it to Tucson for a few years, now, when I did I never failed to stop by and say hi to Fred who was a virtual Conduit of light, love and good vibes which he freely bequeathed to all. When I “stepped in it” (more than a couple of times) due to my ego And/or naïveté and/or stupidity, Fred never faltered in his good will. I will never forget that even at my worst, Fred stayed true to being his best. What a guy. What a loss for the meteoritic community.
