Allegan, Mi Fell July 10, 1899 8am. 31.75kg Ordinary high-iron
(olivine-bronzite) chondrite [H5, S1, W0] After detonations, a single stone
fell. Total iron (28.5 wt%) and olivine composition (~Fa18) are consistent
with those of ordinary H chondrites. Most of the mass has been held at the
U.S. National Museum.

New Orleans, LA New Orleans, Louisiana USA Fell 2003 September 23rd at
about 16:05 hrs (CST)Ordinary chondrite (H5) On the afternoon of September
23rd 2003, a meteorite crashed through the two-story home of Ray and Judy
Fausset, who were not at home at the time. Neighbors said that they heard a
"terrific noise." Two observations of a fireball were recorded. The main
mass of the meteorite was found in the crawl space under the house. Powdery
meteorite debris and fragments were found along the penetration path
throughout the house. A total mass of 19.256 kg was recovered from the
Fausset house, the three largest fragments weighing 2966 g, 1292 g and 1001
g. Some additional material (~100 g) was also recovered in the surrounding
neighborhood. The meteorite has a light grey matrix with a black fusion
crust, and very friable. Abundant metal and troilite are visible on broken
surfaces, as well as some thin (mm-thick) impact melt veins.
Weight 10.4 gm Price $1,800.00 OBRO

Portales Valley, NM This is a slice with metal veins! Portales Fell June
13th, 1998 at 7:45 a.m. Class: H6 and one of the most unique falls of
recent times. After detonations were heard and smoky trails seen in the
sky, a shower of meteorites landed near Portales, New Mexico. 53 objects
have been recovered, with a total mass of 71.4 kg. The largest pieces
weighed 16.5 kg. Speculation that some of the meteorites were hot from the
fall or heated by the hot Sun still exist today. Possible orientation of
the fall might account for possible heat generation of specimens.

Johnstown, CO. Slice Class: Diogenite 1/4 slice 9.2 grams with about an
inch long of black fusion crust on natural outside surface. This fall

Fall Details: At about 1500 hr on 8 March 1976 a red fireball moving SW was
sighted by townspeople of Hsinglung. During the flight there were several
explosions and in the last stages of flight three distinct fireballs were
observed. The meteorite fragments were scattered along an E-W trending
strewnfield with the largest mass recovered at 44°03'N., 126°10'E. (MetBul)

Holbrook, Az Class: L6
Holbrook is a famous meteorite fall, Holbrook fell in on the 19 July 1912.
The fall was heard by many people with multiple explosions. A loud blast,
followed by smaller explosions which lasted roughly a couple of minutes, in
the early evening. Many stones fell in a large strewnfield along the Santa
Fe railway line, extending for at least 6 miles to the eastern part of the
town of Holbrook. Many of the fragments were recovered around the Aztec
railway yard. More than 14,000 fragments from this fall have been recovered
and fragments are often recovered to this day. 200 grams Price:

Carbonaceous Chondrite
Moss, Norway Class: CO3.6 - At about 10:20 am on July 14, 2006, a bright
fireball traveling SSE-NNW was witnessed by many people and a loud
explosion and a rumbling sound was heard in the air above Moss and Rygge in
south Norway, on the east side of the Oslofjord. Shortly after, a small
meteorite was heard to land on an aluminum sheet and was recovered.
Extensive searches in the area have resulted in the recovery of a total of
5 stones. Note that light rainfall occurred a few days after the fall.

Canyon Diablo, Az (Meteor Crater) Iron Sculpted individual with a lot of
character. Class IAB-MG. Many specimens from the Canyon Diablo region have
been found over the years. A giant meteorite crater marks the spot of a
catastrophic collision with the Earth many thousands of year ago where
fragments landed around the crater, some many miles away. A great search by
the Barrington Family for the main mass that was thought to exist below the
crater was conducted. No great mass was every found. Later on Harvey
Nininger was able to take measurements of the soil where little spheroids
were found and came up with the mass of the meteoroid that created the
awesome feature named meteor crater.

Cape York Meteorite was found in the summer of 1963. Class: IRON IIIAB,
medium octahedrite. Weight is Estimated 15 tons. Meteorite has not been
fully excavated. Discovery: The meteorite was discovered by Dr. Vagn
Buchwald (Copenhagen, Denmark), during a study of the lociation where the
Greenland meteorites were previously discovered. It was 6 km to the west of
the point where the two known specimens «Woman» and «Dog» were found and
is undoubtedly a part of the Cape York meteorite shower. The meteorite lay
on an ice-free slope 500 m from the shore and was partly covered with
gneiss boulders. There was no crater and no crushing of rocks discovered.
The meteorite has temporarily been left where discovered. The specimen
found is the sixth from the Cape York meteorite shower. Dr. Vagn Buchwald
has drawn up a summary of precise data on all the known specimens as of
September 1963. (from the meteoritical Bulletin)

Odessa Slice Full Slice with nice inclusions. Class: IAB

The Odessa meteorites were for a long time one of the main meteorites that
people
could collect in earlier times. Similar to the Canyon Diablo meteorites and
class. Both are from impact sites that left a meteorite crater. First
described in 1922 and recognized as a meteorite fall site. Multiple craters
were found at the fall site. My slice shows nice inclusions and a great
etch. A full perfect slice.
