Randy, All,

I agree that new technology will help overcome this identification issue of micro particles. In predict a day of a hand held mineral mass spectrometer where I can hike from boulder to boulder zap it from several feet away and get a readout of it's composition!

As to the particle I got in this deal long ago, I knew the reality that I could not independently identify the specimen. I took the risk of fraud. My issue was an example of of misrepresentation as to size and not origin. I bought an object large enough to use for microscopic study, for my ego, etc. A speck it was but, it was half the size of what I agreed to buy. Matteo says no big deal.

If I sold anyone a cubic centimeter of Lunar material but only sent them half of it-- They'd be livid. It is not like the fragment was cut to order. The dimensions were known before the measurements were given to me. If I can interpret Matteo's response-- he visually estimated the size and the fact that he missed the mark by half is nothing I should bring up.

I would have kept this to myself except he asked if anyone had questioned their dealings with him and apparently several of us did.

After reading the threats and attacks he made on other lists about american servicemen and Anti-Americanism. I am beyond flabbergasted and will vote with my delete key henceforth. My wallet will only be shared with friends.

I've read only a couple of e-mails concerning this argument. From what I gather, it seems that some folks are having a hard time authenticating either the validity of a meteorite, or the classification of a meteorite specimen.
