I also cut small slabs with a Dremmel from time to time, and use water as a coolant. I actually fitted the tool on a banch and fitted a small water container under the blade (so that it catches some water) with a kind of flap behind it and on the top, so that it does not throw too much water away. This way, I do not breath this poisonous dust. And a dust mask is actually not a bad idea, even the way I use my Dremmel.
