Dear List Members,
I have added on our web site some pictures of a strange find
coming from the Sahara Desert... Looking like a meteorite, this unusual object
was actually made by Man's hands, and these hands belong to the Belgian "Land
Artist", Jean Verame.
He actually made 1000 "bronze meteorite", some of them
painted in blue (!), and dropped them over the Sahara Desert from a plane in
1995. 5 of those "bronze meteorite" only, have been recovered so far, and one of
them (#606 / 1000) is shown on our site :
in English: http://meteoriteshow.free.fr/PAVE-J.VERAME-angl.pdf (239Ko
pdf file)
in French: http://meteoriteshow.free.fr/PAVE-J.VERAME-fra.pdf (dossier
pdf de 239Ko)
You can also reach those pages via our second home page: http://meteoriteshow.free.fr/
Do not heasitate to contact me, should you like to have more
details, or wish to purchase this very rare item. We provide a book by Jean
Verame displaying those works and GPS coordinates of the
find.
I agree that it is not a real meteorite and do not try to
show it as one. But it is definitely "meteorite related", from the way it
reached the Sahara Desert (from the air) and the way it was found, actually
hunting meteorites!
Hoping that you will enjoy this news,
Kind regards.
