Since I have
received a lot of mails: Please reread what I have written: I never doubted the
honor of members of the marines. I didn't call them names, I didn't ridicule
them.
All I wanted to say
is that nothing makes you heroic just because you join the marines. You have to
earn honor by your deeds, you don't receive it with a
uniform.
This might be a
rather "european point of view", but it's just that I do not like stereotypes,
no matter from which side they come.
If I offended
someone on this list with my words, I apologize. I thought my point of view was
rather balanced and brought forward with respect. If you felt different, you may
consider that english isn't my primary language. Once again: I didn't want to
offend someone.
