Rosetta Launch Confirmed European Space Agency March 1, 2004 Arianespace confirmed this afternoon that the third attempt to launch the Rosetta spacecraft will take place on 2 March 2004. The previous two attempts to launch the spacrcraft had been cancelled due to high altitude winds and a minor technical issue with the Ariane 5 launcher. In contrast to the previous two launch attempts the time for liftoff has been pushed to the start of the launch window (0716 UT), allowing a second attempt to be made at the 0736UT should the weather again cause problems.
