Hello Mark and list, You can find some basic information on Wells Creek and photos of some shatter cones in the collection page of my website. The best source of information I know on the crater is "Geology of the Wells Creek Structure. Tennessee" from the Tennessee Division of Geology. It is old, 1968, but it is a slipcase with a nice hardbound book (236 pg.) and four maps inside. I only have one copy but you should be able to find it online if you looked. I think it runs around $75.00-$100.00 usually. Besides the shatter cone I know breccia has been found there. However, there is a breccia older then the impact, which is not related, found at the site as well. Mark Bostick |
