Dunite is one of the mineral groups that are mantle derived here on Earth, and diamonds are associated with, didn't we discuss diamonds last week in a different context.
Very small world. Could there be a chance of diamonds in a dunite asteroid out there floating around in space?

On a side note, how many meteorites incorporate dunite as part of their makeup? The only place I remember hearing about dunite previously was
in Chassigny, since Chassigny is a Martian example of what would be
called a dunite on Earth.
Well, dunite, a coarse-grained igneous rock composed almost entirely of olivine, has been reported from:
Chassigny (SNC) Dhofar 307 (LUN-A) Dhofar 730 (LUN-A) Mount Padbury (MES) Mincy (MES) [Putorana contains feldspathic dunite]
