Again for the last 3 years, my state has been
ravaged by fire. We are in a 10 year drought, and it is getting worse.
I flew over the fire today and it was terrible, the
smoke plume was over 30,000 feet high. They remain confident on the news
that the observatory will be saved, but my brother is up there fighting the fire
and he thinks it may burn. They had to be evacuated on Friday night as the fire
blew up so big, and many people deployed fire shelters, a last resort (you get
under a small blanket of aluminum foil and let the fire go over you). So things
are not going well.
On another note, I will be in Europe on Friday and
anyone from Europe who wants to buy anything from me, I can ship from Germany on
Friday, so less shipping and rapid delivery.
