IMLAY CITY (UPI) - A search was to begin today for a meteorite which may have fallen into a field about 1 1/2 miles from here in Lapeer County.
A Michigan State University meteorologist, Van Chamberlain, said he would probe the area for a trace of the object which apparently made a three-foot hole in the snowbound landscape, threw dirt in a 50 feet radius and left signs of intense heat.
Residents of the area reported they saw a flash of light, believed to be a meteorite, last Thursday.

Mark note: Meteorites A to Z does not show any meteorite fall for this location and time. Report is somewhat convincing though.
