Just got something super cool in that will make anyone who digs basaltic rocks DROOL!
A brand new NWA that is a basalt from someplace other than the HED group meteorites - just like NWA 011! The material shares some characteristics of NWA 011 (such as pyroxene FeO/MnO Ratios and Cr/(Cr+Al) and preliminary oxygen isotopse suggest the material has a genetic relationship with the CR parent body. TKW is around 3kg - but I cant say if and when the dealer who owns most of it will offer any for sale. I purchased a large specimin and will take a slice off of it to show of the interrior. I also have a few small pieces left over after takeing a smaple off for analysis - any trade inquieries would be welcome.
