Hi Mike, list and all,
Mike, I feel your pain. Unfortunately, you had many investors from the past that you had to give the NWA numbers to as well as us (i.e. 801...and other investments/NWA meteorites).
We had a small, select group of a scientist and one individual with us (along with two other investors stateside) who we had as researcher and investor last year who were on an expedition to Morocco and we know where all material is that we purchased, especially NWA 1877 (1110 from previous unaided trip). Therefore, when people attempt to sell NWA 1877 and 1110, we know the provenance of the tested material that we have and of our investors, this is why we continue to harp on those not doing the right thing and selling "supposed" pairings!
Bob, get a clue, your collectors/customers deserve better than second-guess stones you pass off as meteorites, much less than planetary or rare (or ordinary for that matter!). You are following a couple of the bad Moroccan dealer's "habbit"s of offering bad material for simple, quick gain. Get above that...
Best regards to all,
Greg

Again, if that is to be the case, then I want EVERYONE to immediately STOP using my number, NWA 801, and NWA 1929, and others.
Those are my numbers for specific pieces, and suddenly there are hundreds of pieces of NWA 1929 on eBay and at shows, many uncut, and I would like to know how people think they are paired with my meteorite?

Hey Bob,
I thought everybody agreed to abide by the NomCom rules regarding the use of
NWA numbers. What you have is not NWA 1110 or NWA 1877. Why don't you use
statements such as:
I suspect my untested and unofficial material may be paired to NWA 1068 or
NWA 1877 because a Moroccan dealer named Habibi told me so.
and...
I borrowed some of my descriptions against ebay rules from the Hupes without
their consent.
I do not want to get into any more arguments because Jeff Grossman has made
the rules clear regarding the use of NWA numbers. Most everybody else has
changed their descriptions on websites, at shows and auctions to reflect
their newly found understanding of these rules.
Let this serve as a final warning and then I will post the names, addresses,
phone numbers and transgressions of anybody who improperly uses NWA numbers
without paperwork of material we were responsible for making official on a
legally protected website called 'TheMeteoriteSite.com", still under
construction. The lack of respect for NomCom rules only serves to undermine
consumer confidence.
When bad checks were received at one of our retail stores we used to enlarge
it to the size of a poster and paste it on the storefront window so that
over a 100,000 motorists could view it every day as they passed by.
Needless to say, the writers of the bad checks paid up and less-than-honest
shoppers never tried to pass bad checks on us again.
Best Regards,
