Dear List, It is about time that someone is taking this seriously. Year 2008 is fast approaching and the high probability that we will have a catastrophic event will not end for this "round" until 2028. It may be far out as a possibility; but since space is basically a vacuum, would it be possible to either paint or attach alternating black and white fins to an early detected astroid to change its orbit? For those on this list that have not studied physics please consult a physics book. Are there any specialists out there on this list that perhaps could answer this question? Thank you. Sincerely, Dirk Ross..Tokyo
