I'm no expert on chondrules, either, but I imagine the pre-melt chondrules to 
form and look more
like snowflakes-- or like type "A" calcium-aluminum inclusions.  (I'd love to 
have the book on
chondrules, but it costs more than I'm willing to pay for it
