Hi Martin & List,

I do know that there are many strange circumstances for shipments to
Germany. One method of shipping will eliminate a service (e.g.
insurance) offered with another shipping method. The best way to find
out is to check: http://www.usps.com

It's usually pretty accurate giving quotes, but it depends on the postal
clerks training qualifications also. Many times I get different answers
from different people. This website might be very helpful for other
list members outside the U.S. Just one of the many things a meteorite
collector must consider.

I hope it turns out well!

Take care,

Mark

Thanks for the good opportunity!

A member of this list, from which I took a specimen from ebay and for
whom
perhaps it could be advantageous, if he would let the specimen get
"lost" in
mail,
told me, after I asked him to send it fully insured and registered at
my
costs,

that a insured and registered parcel is not possible from USA to
Germany.

Could please someone gave a short note here, that it IS possible
without any
problems?
For him to read only.

Many thanks!
Martin

(yes Bob and Dave as you suppose, it's him.....)

For most items I buy, I never get insurance or confirmation. I'm
