Excellent post dealing with the yet unsolved origin of tektites. Your post is a must read for all!!! Perhaps when the Sun crosses the plane of the galaxy we get debris that could account for faster projectiles. I don't know if that coincides with the reversal of the magnetic field though. Food for thought (and for getting the knowledgeable to post comments). Best!
