Ron,

I envy you. What a thrill to be at hand and witness this engineering triumph!

Congratulations to all involved.

Subject: [meteorite-list] Stardust - aerogel looking great

Hi,

I'm at Houston this week. The Stardust return capsule arrived at Johnson Space Center today. The canister was opened up, and the aerogel collector grid was extracted. The aerogel was closely inspected and photographed. I was in the clearnroom when the cometary grid was separated from the interplanetary particle grid. The scientists are ecstatic.
More details will be presented in the JSC press release tomorrow.
