Hi.
I have been in contact with the persons who found the Ourique meteorite, and all of them refered the initial strong sulfur smell of the stones, now inexistent. The specimens seam to be less magnetic now than when they were fresh, too. I would say that this indicates the presence of an iron sulfur (Troilite?), that progressively oxidated. AA. |
