Hello Ed, All,
Frank T. Kyte did supposedly find a piece of the Chicxulub impactor in a core sample.
His research, however, indicated that the fragment that he discovered was not cometary, but asteroidal in composition.  He determined it to be either CV, CR, or CO.

Jason

Hi list,

There is yet another comet sample: a carbonaceous
chondrite was recovered from the KT layer by a core
drilled in the Pacific.

Berndt should have the details on this one at hand in
his database. My own memory is not so good since my
stroke, and I have limited energy available.

good hunting,
Ed
