Si, Fra Martinus,

I agree absolutely. By the way: I'm somehow in a loose E-Mail exchange with Abdellah - Hello to Marocco! - and my impression, without having dealed with him until now, is quite good and positive - it's simply one of the normal and friendly contacts such as I have with other meti-aficionados in Europe, USA etc.

So: just give people a chance.

Jollahadrihoo,

Matthias Baermann

Nobody is forced to purchase from such offers via e-mail.
For whom it is to risky: Don't buy or buy at your next mineral show or
travel by your own to Morocco to see the stones there.
But then you have to take the expenses.

In general the Moroccans are francophone and only seldom they know English,
Hence their emails may sound funny sometimes.

That some are trying to market their material directly, is more than
legitimate.

I don't like that hidden subtext in this thread.
If there weren't the Morrocans, we all still had to pay 400$ for Howardites,
800$/g for Acapulcoites, 200$ for Ureilites and 2000$ for Marses and
2000$/kg for W3-chondrites.

Thus, if you all please, a little bit more respect and gratitude!

The thing that gets me is the fact that this "Moroccan" dealer uses many
names and all the emails come from France. I was impressed by Joels
recommendation of course but Joel and that astrocomical research guy
recommend this person by all his names. What's the deal? Why can't he use
one identity?

Hello sir, I am an honest man. Send me money today for a meteorite. He
sounds like Wimpy in the Popeye cartoons. Well as Robert Crumb said, "No
########### hamburger is going to tell me what to do. This guy won't front
any material and why in the world does he expect to be trusted?

Hi list,
It seems that most of us don't trust Moroccan
Meteorite dealers (myself included). I'm sure that it
is because at one time or another we've heard of
transactions going wrong, maybe even had one go south
ourselves.

It does appear in this case though that Abdellah is
very trust worthy. Since I first posted this topic
I've received many emails regarding him and his
reputation. Everyone seems to agree that he is a man
of his word. The problems encountered if any while
dealing with him were in the shipping of the
meteorites, usually customs!

Attached is a short email Joel Schiff sent me
regarding Abdellah.

Note: forwarded message attached.
