Hello all, I am new to the list and new to meteorite hunting. I have been
hunting gold now for about four years and love it.
I think I have always wanted to find a meteorite since I was a little kid. I
have always thought when finding hot rocks, when hunting gold ( how would I
know if it might be a meteorite.)
Well 5 months ago I told myself educate yourself and go find one.
With some help from some fellow gold hunters, and especially Ruben Garcia. I
found my first meteorite in AZ at Franconia using my metal detector. Next I hit
Gold Basin in AZ and found some there with a metal detector too.
Knowing I could find them with a metal detector. I now wanted to find them by
sight. Well at this point I have found some by sight alone in 3 different
places.
Just this weekend me and a friend (Paul) did some scouting in CA. I was able
to find a little 1.1 gram on a dry lake bed by sight. MAN I JUST LOVE THIS
HOBBY!!
This list is a great place to get great info and inspiration.
