Martin,

just for your personal informations, we are in the fossils and antiquities
business in Morocco since 1992 (do you want to see our passeports ?)

Paleontology and Archeology is our first hobby and we are still active
even in publication with many scientists. Our exhibition on shows
have always been roughly 40% meteorites and 30% each fossils and
antiquities...

Best from France to all of you !

B & C

Oh?

So maybe I got the wrong impression from the last shows, where you reduced
the meteorite assortment in favour of old china, artifacts, fossils.
Thus I was thinking you were turning now more away from the meteorites to
other business fields.

So welcome to the oligopoly of the meteorite future!!

Martin

Hello Martin and list members,

well Martin, we are absolutly not quitting this
business !!! First of all we love meteorites
and the knowledge they bring to us.

Secondly with the 2.4 tons officially exported from
Morocco and legaly imported in ECC we would be crazy
to give up such a good market.... especially now that many
new big collectors are coming to the meteorite world !

you will all have to count with us and www.meteorite.fr
by the way if anybody is looking for rare types or
pristine historical, our incredibly large inventory is waiting for you !!

Cheers from France,

But Alex, why are you so surprised?

You as all-time collector haven't you noticed, that one dealer after the
other disappears?

To little appreciation or money for the hard work.

Look who had quit, is going to quit or turns at present to other business
fields:

- New
- Nikicher
- Carion
- Kroth
- Labennes
- Zeitschel
- Sinclair
- Cisneros
- Sprich
- Eisler senior
- Pittman
- Burkhard
- Kempton
- Stehlin
- Cintron
- Killgore
- McCall
- Bühler
- Franco
- Wampfler
- Matteo
- Fectay
- Pellison
- Cahill
- Bessey
(- Does that Farrell still exist?)

Now Elliott.

With the fading out of the desert supply additionally all those who grew
with the desert will disappear too.

In a few years you won't find almost no professional meteorite dealers
anymore. Only a small oligopoly. And a few collectors, selling here and
there a piece.

Will be boring times for the Armandos of the world.

But Chladni's star will shine!

Best!
Martin

A dear meteorite friend of mine just suggested sort of an "April 1st joke"
to me, regarding this message. But look for yourself. Then again this
could
be some internet piracy - or is it indeed true?

Who knows..?? Well, Rob will know! :-)

This is what looks to be hot news somehow... I just stumbled upon
a short note on Rob Elliott´s ("Fernlea") website, which I was
occasionally surfing to. Has anyone any more detail on this?

----citation from Rob´s website:---

"Hi folks!

My entire meteorite collection/inventory has just been sold to a
collector,
wishing to own a World class meteorite collection of their own. After 10
years as a full-time, professional meteorite dealer, I'm pleased to
announce
that I'm now retiring as a seller. I won't be leaving meteorites
completely,
although from now on, my emphasis will be on hunting, rather than dealing
in
meteorites. I will of course be honouring all part-paid sales & on-hold
deals that were agreed before today. I'll leave my sales pages online for
the pictures & information, but I can't sell you anything! :-). My thanks
to
all my customers, past and present.......not only for their business, but
also for their enthusiasm in the World's greatest hobby.

Rob Elliott"
