After looking at the photos again carefully, and reading what someone posted in response on the meteorobs list, it does appear to be more of a blast crater from explosives ( or a bomb?) rather than dug out with a backhoe or whatever. I noticed in one or two of the photos the tree/brush line appears to be perhaps pushed backed, as well as bark removed from the trees, along a radial line from the blast center (epicenter?). http://www.fn.hu/kepkatalogus.php?catid=1169
