One of the more advanced books on meteorites, providing a good general
overview and specific insights into different classes of meteorites,
(..even for the interested layman, and a non-professional like me),
uses to be:

      Reviews in Mineralogy Volume 36
      "PLANETARY MATERIALS"
      (J. J. Papike, Ed., ISBN 0-939950-46-4)
      (c) 1998 Mineralogical Society of America

I stumbled upon this work again a short time ago when I was looking for some
info about the CR class of meteorites, while at the same time I realized this
was issued about nine years ago. Now I wonder whether there has been any
"update" work issued ever since, or may be a book somehow comparable to this
very remarkable volume. I don“t mean a journal like MAPS, which I am
automatically subscribed to as a MetSoc member, but I rather think of a similar
comprehensive "overview book" with more up-to-date scientific details.

Any suggestions from the experts? Or do you know of a volume possibly in the
pipeline, not yet issued, which may satisfy the needs for an update overview?
