That is terrific news, Anne. definitely settles any turbulence erroneously stirred up in the waters of good will.

Subject: Re: [meteorite-list] Greensburg Raffle Fundraiser

Hello List-Members,

I would only like to add a small but very important bit of information to
what Geoff and Maria said.

I was told by a very well informed person that the amount donated by the
Meteorite Community will be the second highest donation to be received by the
town of Greensburg.

The only entity who gave more? The US Government!

Dear Listees:

Greetings all.

I wanted to second Maria's comments, and commend everyone who has
helped with this fundraiser. Although many people are involved, the
ever-generous Maria Haas has shouldered the bulk of the work in making
the event happen.

During the Denver show, most or all of the prizes will be on display
(location TBA) for your viewing pleasure. You will be able to buy
raffle tickets during the show from Maria, Anne Black, myself, and any
other fundraiser volunteers who are in attendance. However we would
MUCH rather you get your tickets in advance (i.e. today or very soon),
so we don't have to carry your cash around at the show, and keep
reminding ourselves to put your tickets in the jar at the last minute!
It sure would be nice if we could reach $10,000.

Prizes here: http://www.aerolite.org/events/greensburg-raffle.htm

We're also most grateful to the Denver COMETS who have once again
allowed us to crash their annual party with a charity raffle : ) The
Katrina Raffle prize drawing, back in 2005, was very exciting, and I
hope many of you will be there this year to see who goes home with the
big Brenham slab and all the other goodies. Winners who cannot make it
to the event will be notified afterwards. Please remember that most of
us will be away from home, visiting the show, and won't be able to
notify all winners for a day or two.

Please visit Anne Black's site http://www.impactika.com and click on
the big "PARTY" link near the top of the page for directions, times,
etc. for the party and raffle.

Regards,

Geoff N.
