Hello List and Diogenite buffs, Last month, there was an advert from Chladni's Heirs (Stefan + Martin) and Martin offered what he called a "crazy diogenite". TKW is a mere 69 grams. I don't know if there are still any slices left but 2 of the 3 pieces I am glad I was able to purchase have a special feature, something I have never seen before in any of my diogenites - at least not with such clearness (only exception: my back-lighted Tatahouine RFS picture of October 3, 2007: http://www.spacerocksinc.com/October_3_2007.html)
My two NWA 4808 diogenite slices feature textbook examples of several large euhedral (= mineral crystals fully bounded by well-formed typical crystal faces and subhedral (= having a partial or incomplete crystal face or form) orthopyroxene crystals in which the cleavages (= most minerals break or "cleave" along certain planes and pyroxenes have two cleavages at 90°) are clearly and unmistakably visible. So glad I didn't hesitate and acquired three of these exotic beauties! Diogenitically Yours, Bernd ______________________________________________ Meteorite-list mailing list [email protected] http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list
