Oh come on Steve, Orientation has absolutely nothing to do with an persons interpretation. Orientation will have obvious proof that the meteorite maintained a stable flight for a significant duration of its descent. Sorry flow lines dont cut it. Last time I was at the Tucson show and that one guy had like 3000 SA individuals for sale, I could find a flow line on every piece that I Iooked at. Were they all oriented ?? Honestly, I dont care what you call the piece. The only thing that pisses me off is when I buy a piece labeled oriented and it really isnt. Yes that has happened before cause some ebay auctions dont have the best photos. -------------- Original message ---------------------- From: steve arnold <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> > Hello again list.I have received a few private emails > from list members concerning the word "oriented".I > agree with mexico doug,it is diffently up to that > person who thinks what is oriented.Like I said,I have > seen and held the piece in my hands. It has flow > lines, fusion crust, and has alot of orientation. But to > me after hearing it from another list member, and I > never even thought about it,the previous owners of > this fine meteorite, even stated that it is > oriented. And with the good history of the labennes,I > don't think they would lie about thier auction.I will > get the piece tomorrow and trust me,I will look very > closely under a microscope for all the little beauties > that awaits to be seen. > > > > steve arnold, chicago, usa! > > Steve R.Arnold, chicago,Ill,Usa!! > The Asteroid Belt! > Chicagometeorites.net > Collecting Meteorites since 06/19/1999 > Ebay I.D.
