data has not been kept on the parameter of orientation and thus any answer is pure speculation.

i could be mistaken, but I also believe scientific literature precludes the possibility of oriented canyon diablos.

Hi Tim and all,
This clearly varies from fall to fall. For instance, I doubt any
Stone fall had as many oriented individuals as did Gao.
For Irons, I would think Taza. (S-A has a lot - but a LOT more
Individuals, period.) I don't ever remember seeing an oriented
Canyon Diablo, though there likely are some, I would think.

Hello List,

How many 85% to 100% oriented meteorites do you think are found?

1 in 5000 for an iron meteorite

1 in 500 for a stone meteorite

Whats your best guess?

Thanks,
Tim Heitz
