Cool beans, Mike!
Not to steal any of your thunder, but I just got notified that I am now a
member of the IMCA!
So, if anyone has any complaints about an IMCA member......
Don't send them to me!!!

Subject: Re: [meteorite-list] Meteoritical Society Membership
Hi Folks,
I was just being impatient it seems! :)
I got my confirmation and membership number today! :)
One word describes how I feel right now - GEEKJOY!
LOL!
Aaaahh, now I get to dive in (completely over my
head),
into the harder science of meteoritics!
(If I'm not back in 6 months, call out the National
Guard to look for me!)
After reading some of the quaint theories present in
the dated (but wonderful) "Out of the Sky" by
Nininger,
I am thirsty for some newer and more sound theory.
For example, one of the theories presented in Out of
the Sky (not Nininger's theory, he was merely
reporting it),
is that the craters on the moon were not formed from
meteorite impacts, but from gas bubbles escaping from
below the lunar surface, and the craters are
solidified
remains of the bursting bubbles - left in a
plastic-like
surface that has since hardened! ;)
Regards,
MikeG
