Hi Doug, Mike, and List, Another shortcoming of this book is to be found on page 1 of the first chapter where the author writes: "It was late in the evening at the end of the first week of August ... and ...this was the night it was going to peak".
The author (who is described as having "a longtime fascination with astronomy") should have known that the Perseids peak around the nights of August 11-12 !
