My vote is for a jet contrail too. I think my images show the jets 2 contrails quickly merging into one before evaporating. I should also not reply to emails while watching Meteor Crater on the History Channel...

If an object is of sufficient size, shouldn't it produce an open channel right behind it for a short length? And, would a jet engine also be able to create this channel? (I don't have a clue...)
