During its luminous phase which lasted over 40 seconds, the Peekskill meteoroid covered a ground path of some 700 to 800 km according to Brown et al. (1994). Aerodynamic drag caused a greater than 20 km longitudinal displacement of the fragments and the transverse displacement was about 1km for some of the smaller fragments.
