Richard,
WOW , I had forgotten this was your gig. Many Many congrats to you. This is a
very interesting fall and of major importance to this field. Had this material
not been tracked by you and simply found, I am quite sure that scientists would
have blown it off. They would have uttered the very dreaded words" it looks
terrestrial". I have heard that too many times. To me it is the stupidest thing
any scientist could say. Much of the rarest material does in fact look
terrestrial. Especially this fall.
Again the importance of this discovery by you cannot be emphasized enough.
This is truly one of those science changing discoveries. Now seeing this stuff
close-up convinces me that your discovery is among THE most important in recent
history. If they find any new minerals in this I hope they name it after you.
How does Kowalskiite sound? It would have never been accepted by our
scientists as authentic based on appearance alone. I think a press conference
about you is in order. This discovery needs to be highly published.
I cannot post too the list right now but I will try.
If it does not post you are welcome to post this.
Please do because I would love to see you on the news mainly to get the word
out about you but it would not hurt our community to have another Tucson
scientist recognized internationally.
Well done. Carl --
