Last week members of the British and Irish Meteorite Society (BIMS, http://www.bimsociety.org) visited the Manchester Museum (UK). One of the specimens we saw was a partslice of the iron La Grange, found in Kentucky in 1860. It was part of an old collection acquired by the Museum in the late 1870's.

The Catalogue of Meteorites only states "A mass of 112lb was found". Can anybody add more information to this?

Thanks in advance,

Matt.
