Every so often I see interesting things in the images made while surveying for NEOs. For a long time I've either enjoyed them in passing when they come up on the screen or occasionally I'll save out the image to put them up on a page some time in the future. Well "the future" finally arrived.
During my last run at the Catalina Schmidt I had a meteor streak through one field and it left a nice smoke trail. The high level winds blew the trail a little westward before the shutter closed again. I thought the readers of this list might be interested in seeing this image too. When you have a field of view that can fit more than 25 full moons in it, catching a nice meteor and trail, while rare, isn't all that uncommon. The page is located at: http://www.lpl.arizona.edu/~kowalski/interesting_events.html As I come across more interesting things while surveying, I'll put them up on this page too. -- Richard Kowalski Full Moon Photography IMCA #1081 ______________________________________________ Visit the Archives at http://www.meteoritecentral.com/mailing-list-archives.html Meteorite-list mailing list [email protected] http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list
