Hi Joe and List,

NWA 4302 is one of the most beautiful diogenites I have had the luck to have
acquired from Morocco. But, with a TKW of just 46 grams,
there was not much to go around and sold out in 2005.

Another diogenite, NWA 5405, is even more spectacular with huge olivine
crystals visible on the exterior surface. After the type sample
was provided for classification, I did not want to cut the main stone, it now
resides in a private collection. Adam sent an email to the
List for me with a couple links to images which do not do this meteorite
justice. It looks much better in person!

Best regards,
Greg

Subject : RE: [meteorite-list] NWA 4302 - very unusual matrix, unique..

 Hello listees,
Just wondering if anyone has any more pics of the insanely beautiful
Diogenite. It is the strangest one I have ever seen. I wouls not
have picked it up, the one who found this must have a terrific meteorite eye.
Here is a link to a great photo of it. I want to see more. In this image you
can see a little iron, and tons of green crystals and white
matrix that really looks like quartz, but it's not........
