It's somewhat of a relief to receive your respectful & courteous questions. I thank you for your sincere curiosity and due diligence. Smaller, identical pairings of this larger Martian meteorite have, indeed, been sliced, polished and examined to reveal all of the impact & shock metamorphisms required of a Martian meteorite. These metamorphisms include terrestrially weathered fusion crust (still visibly evident), and regmaglyph thumb prints. Closer, microscopic inspections reveal metals of chromite, iridium and titanium. The major metal is chromite suspended in neosilicates of olivine, with iridium & titanium blebs throughout the cut & polished face. Most importantly, the olivine neosilicate has been shocked melted to a blueish-black to nearly extinct, along with pyroxenes and glass-filled impact fissures. Feldspars of augite have been shock melted as well, to what is referred to as diaplectic glass, or maskenylite. This specimen, along with several other distinct specimens, were analysed by Actlabs of Ontario, Canada. The results were positive for both extraterrestrial and planetary origins. The high SiO2 content of up to 85%, along with high CaO and low MgO & Fe2O3 levels, indicate water as a major morphism influence. The Martian atmosphere, examined by Viking, would give credence to what our lab results have, so far, confirmed. Further analysis' are now being performed at ASU & UNM to further confirm these preliminary findings. We do expect the classification process within a few weeks. But as you know, these universities research labs can take some time to complete their analysis'. This Martian meteorite is just one of many pristine specimens located, collected & analysed from the Uncompahgre Strewn Field in Western Colorado. This field, which has experienced several meteoritic impact events over the last several thousand years, also includes Lunar meteorites, as well as asteroidal Ordinary & Primitive Chondrites. This is an impressive area for such events. The extent of finds increases on a daily basis. This field was discovered & identified by Yours Truly. I am a well-studied amateur meteoritst, yet I assure you that I have followed the science of Richard Norton, Lawrence Chitwood, Harvey Nininger and numerous other credible & reliable sources to qualify & accredit this site as one of the most important discoveries in a century, or more. Furthermore, I have just recently recovered the third Lunar meteorite strewn field in North America. This discovery was a result of a witnessed bolide by two individuals. This "fireball," ended up to be a large (daytime) event and culminated in the collection of several thousand fragments & whole stones of "definite" Lunar origin. These new, black fusion-crusted stones are not magnetic and are definitely Lunar! I will defy any lunar geochemist to refute this find, along with the Unco finds!
