Hi Bob:

Good report. One thing, the find announcement of the first meteorite gives a date of July 1, 2007, which would imply a good time to "hunt" the area is in summer when the ground is dry due to drought conditions. Mind you the mosquitoes and black flies are HUGE. I was given (donated) a tiny specimen of Whitecourt, which was found by the finder in July of 2009. The finder indicated that the ground was dry and the vegetation nice and "very crispy dry". Hunting was easier then, except for the insect life. Not to mention the odd pissed off bear.
