Hi Jason, all -

For the best expert analysis on cometary breakup see W.M. Napier, Paleolithic
extinctions and the Taurid Complex. pdf's are available online.

The Encke sample is Tagish Lake, not Moss Lake, and my apologies to all list
members for this major slip up. I hope none of you lost any money or time. My
sincerest apologies to everyone. (F******g stroke.)

Jason, it isn't that the scientists "can't" identify what hit, it's that they
HAVEN'T. No research funding for it, you see.

Sterling, I agree completely. If we knew everything, we wouldn't have the
pleasure of discovery. Jason, given that, my operative principle is that I have
been wrong before and reserve the right to be wrong both now and in the future.
This may stun you as well, but others besides myself have been wrong before as
well, and some of them (the good ones) have actually had the guts to admit it.
