Seems odd that somehow Geoff got mixed up in this discussion. I see this as
nothing more that tv-show groupees seeing a value (perhaps rightly so if
they had discovered the B-meteorites, but even still because of the celeb
status)...for anyone unaware of current $-trends for any Bassikounou, and
never looking into real-collection offering pricings, I can actually see
this happening. (Even Sikhote Alin ~30-40 gram rusty-oily shrapnels were
going for 1$+/gram today, go figure.)
When I originally read the first two posts, Geoff never came to mind, still
doesn't. Certainly shill-bidding didn't. Let's watch the newbees instead.

Carl, All,
For those who apparently don't know how to read the bidding statistics
on a given page, the important thing to look at is the time at which a
bid was placed -- not the order in which it appears on the list.
The current top bid, held by 3***g( 93), was placed on December 31st,
at ~10:30am PST.
a***a( 419) tried to outbid 3***g( 93) twice the next day (Jan. 1),
placing bids of $50 and $60.
At this point, s***t( 0 ) placed no fewer than 14 bids, the last of
which was for $180. This drove the price to $182.50, which...makes
sense, since the bid increment up to $250 is $2.50.
This looks like a typical example of someone bidding an item up. But
since we all know Geoff and he does have good standing, it would be
strange to accuse him of anything without evidence of some sort.
It's probably just someone who doesn't understand how best to use
ebay. Or it could even be a recurrence of our non-paying fellow from
a week or so ago...
Regards,
Jason

Don, Greg,

I can't believe what I am reading here.
We are talking about Geoff Notkin. I am sorry but, I have to speak up
here.
Geoff is NOT shilling here.
He would simply never be a part of anything like that.
The reason it looks like the *0* feedback bidder bid so many times is
because the bidder with 93 feedbacks bid around 15 times until he was high
bidder. This has nothing to do with any shill or conspiracy. It is simply
how eBay works.
Again ,I say for the record. Geoff is way to cool to be involved in ANY
thing illegal.
