Hello there, I shortly wanted to tell, in the course of the bolide-thread, that there are affordable copies of a new reprint of William Fulke's "Meteors" available on amazon:
William Fulke: Meteors, Or a plain description of all kinds of meteors, as well fiery and ayrie, as watry and earthy: briefly manifesting the causes of all blazing stars, shooting stars, flames in the aire, thunder, lightning, earthquakes, rain, dew, snow, clouds, springs, stones, and metals William Fulke (1538 - 1589) was a puritan divine, and it is relatively uncommon for those times, that such a scientific treatise is written not in Latin, but in popular speech. Maybe also interesting to see, how he transferred the Aristotelian terminology into English. Anyway - for the meteorite collector and the meteor observer it could be a good read, to see where their field originated, with the advantage of not having to know Latin. Costs 17$ http://kuerzer.de/Fulkemeteors Best, Martin ______________________________________________ Visit the Archives at http://www.meteoritecentral.com/mailing-list-archives.html Meteorite-list mailing list [email protected] http://six.pairlist.net/mailman/listinfo/meteorite-list
